Apple Slice Base
- Line a 30cm x 20cm baking tin with paper.
- Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F
(A) Apple Slice Base
- Place and weigh the flour, butter and sugar into mixing jar to mix.
Settings: Timer: 1 Minutes / Speed: 7
- Add the egg and vanilla essence combine.
Settings: Timer: 15 Seconds / Speed: 7
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking tray and press the dough down to form an even layer.
(B) Apple Filling
- Peel and core the apples. Roughly dice the apple into 1 1/2cm cube.
- Add the apple lemon zest, cinnamon and apple sauce to a large bowl. Stir to combine.
- Set-asides for later use.
Streusel Topping
- Add flour, butter, and sugar into mixing jar.
- Blend until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs.
Settings: Timer: 1 Minutes / Speed: 7
(C) Assembly the Apple Slice
- Spread the apple mixture over the base of the slice.
- Spoon the crumble over the slice allow it to sit in clumps to the top of the apple layer.
- It's nice to squeeze bits together so the mixture isn’t too small and crumbly on the top.
- Bake for 45 Minutes at 180°C / 350°F until the crumbs are lightly golden.
NOTES
The slice will be soft whilst it's hot but once refrigerated it will become much easier to cut neatly.
